Bookstore-coffee house Gaudeamus Kirja & Kahvi is a meeting place of books, coffee and people in the middle of Helsinki. The bookstore offers the most intriguing fact and science books, and delicacies served in the coffee house are prepared in our own kitchen.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast or a glass of wine – we welcome all city dwellers, bypassers, students and University staff alike!

Have a break for yourself or set up a meeting in the inspiring and unique atmosphere of Kaisatalo.

Mon-Fri soup, salad or focaccia with filling and side order salad 8,20€. Sat salad 8,20€ and soup 7€. Soup together with focaccia 10€.

Lookout of facts and stories

The bookstore carries a large variety of fact and science books published by Finnish publishers. Emphasis in the selection is in history, society, culture, arts, economy, well-being and natural sciences, but other types of books are also available, including readers’ favourites, surprising authors, design and books about Helsinki.

If you can’t find a Finnish language book you are looking for, we’ll order it for you!

Tastes from morning to evening

The selection of the comfy and fresh coffee house evolves during the day – you may come and enjoy your morning coffee with fresh croissants, or have salad and soup for lunch or even refresh the night with a glass of wine.

Fair Trade and organic products are favoured at the coffee shop.
